Your wedding guest list, by household, always up to date

Bridely keeps your wedding guest list by household. For each guest you note their partner, children, menu, allergies, whose side they're on and their group. Type the names in, import an Excel file or take a photo of a list on paper. When guests answer their invitation, their replies appear in the list on their own, and anyone who can't come frees up their seat.

How it works in Bridely

  1. Bring in the names

Add guests one at a time, upload an Excel or CSV file, paste cells from a spreadsheet, or take a photo of a list on paper, in your phone notes or in a WhatsApp screenshot.

  2. Group them into households

Link partners and children to the main guest. The household gets one invitation, replies together and sits at the same table.

  3. Add what matters

Note the group, whose guest they are, a phone number for WhatsApp, the menu and any allergies. You can change several guests at once when you need to.

  4. Collect the replies

Guests answer through their invitation link. For each reply you can see when it came in and whether the guest sent it or you recorded it.

  5. See what's left to do

Filter for who hasn't replied, who has no table, whose phone number is missing and who has allergies. You can group the list by group, side, reply or table.

Building the list without falling out

Start with two lists, one for each side, and merge them afterwards. Write down everyone who comes to mind and cut later. Taking a name off is easier than remembering a forgotten aunt a month before the wedding. Before you add anyone, agree on the difficult rules together.

Often the list already exists, on a sheet of paper at your parents' house, in someone's phone notes or in a message from your mum. Take a photo and Bridely splits it into separate guests, handwriting included. You look over the result and correct it before anything goes into your list.

  • Are children invited, or is it adults only?
  • Plus-ones for everyone, or only for people already in a couple?
  • Who decides about colleagues and your parents' friends?
  • Which side and which group do your godparents and their family belong to?

Think in households, not names

Invitations go to households. Add the Popescu family as Dan, with Ioana as his partner and their two children, and you'll send one link, count one household and keep them at one table. A guest coming alone is a household of one.

Write in the children's names once you know them and choose their menu, the kids' menu or a half portion. Venues often charge differently for children, so it helps to know early how many there are. Note allergies on the guest themselves, so they also appear on the table list you give the venue.

Getting every reply back

Ask for replies two to three weeks before the wedding and put the date clearly on the invitation. Save a phone number for every household. The No contact filter shows who is still missing one, so you know whom to ask.

A few days before the deadline, filter Waiting and send those guests a short reminder. For older relatives who would rather ring you, record their answer yourself. The list, the tables and the budget update just as they would for a reply sent through the link.

When someone can't come, their seat is freed and their meal comes out of the catering cost, so the numbers you give the venue are always today's.

Questions couples ask

Is there a limit on how many guests I can add?

No. The guest list has no limit on any plan. The Free limit only applies to invitations: 50 households can receive one, and partners and children count as part of their household.

Can I import my guest list from Excel?

Yes. Upload an Excel or CSV file, or paste cells copied from a spreadsheet. Bridely recognises the name, phone, e-mail and group columns, and a single column of full names is enough. You check what it found before importing.

Can Bridely read a handwritten guest list?

Yes. Take a photo of a handwritten page, your phone notes, a WhatsApp screenshot or a printed table. Bridely lists each person separately, with Romanian names spelled properly, and you check the list before importing. Your first scan is free, then each page costs 2 Bridely Credits.

How do I add children to a guest?

Open the guest and add a child to their household. Each child can have a name and the kids' menu or a half portion. Children reply on the family's invitation and stay with their parents when tables are arranged automatically.

Can guests add themselves to the list?

Yes, if you turn on sign-up. You share a link, and guests enter their name, phone or e-mail, menu and allergies. They appear straight on your list, and you can switch the link off at any time.

Can I import contacts from my phone?

On phones that allow it, such as Android with Chrome, yes. Pick people from your contacts and Bridely shows them with their number and e-mail before adding them. On a computer, use the Excel import or a photo of the list instead.

What happens when a guest says they can't come?

Their reply shows in the list straight away. Their seat is freed and their meal comes out of the catering cost. On the invitation each person in the household answers for themselves, so a child can still come if one parent can't.
