Budget & payments
Know what your wedding costs before the bills arrive
Bridely keeps your wedding budget, your vendor contracts and every payment together, for free. The catering cost follows your guests’ replies. Guests who have confirmed count as certain, guests who haven’t answered yet as possible. So you can always see what you have paid, what is due next and the most the wedding could still cost.
How the budget works in Bridely
Set the total and the menu price
Enter what you plan to spend, the currency you think in and the menu price per guest. The catering cost is then worked out from your guest list.
Add each vendor once you sign
Record the contract price, the deposit you paid and when the balance is due. A venue priced in euro and a florist paid in lei sit in the same list.
Let the replies move the numbers
When a family confirms, their meals move into the certain total. A guest who declines drops out. A child’s meal counts at half price unless you give it a price of its own.
Pay on time
The payment calendar shows anything overdue first, then the months ahead. Mark one payment or several as paid, and each vendor’s balance updates.
How to build a wedding budget that holds
At a Romanian wedding the meal is priced per guest. That is why budgets usually slip because of the headcount, far more often than because of any single vendor.
- Agree on the total first, including what your parents want to contribute, and write it down as one figure.
- Multiply the menu price by the people likely to come rather than the whole list. Plus-ones and children change the count quickly.
- Book the big items first. Venue and catering, then photo and video, then music. Everything else fits around them.
- Keep a reserve, usually around 10%, for an extra hour at the venue, band overtime, transport or last-minute decor.
What to check in every vendor contract
You can only compare two quotes once you know what each one includes. Before you sign, ask about the points below.
Record each contract in the currency it is written in. Bridely keeps the original amount and adds everything up in your budget currency at a reference rate, as an estimate.
- What the menu price covers, such as drinks, VAT, service, table decor and the venue’s own staff.
- Whether you can bring your own drinks or cake, and what the venue charges for it.
- Which currency the price is in and which exchange rate applies. A euro price paid in lei can come out differently for the balance than for the deposit.
- How much the deposit is, when the balance is due and whether the deposit is refundable.
- What overtime costs at the venue and for the band, the DJ and the photographer.
Deposits, balances and the envelopes on the day
Enter the contract price once, then add each payment as you make it, whether it is a deposit, an instalment or the balance. Bridely shows straight away how much you have paid and how much is left. You get a notification three days before a payment is due, and another if it becomes overdue.
Some vendors are still paid in cash on the wedding day. Prepare an envelope for each of them about a week before, hand them to someone you trust and mark those payments as paid, so nobody pays twice. For paper receipts a photo is enough. Bridely reads the vendor, amount, date and items, and you check everything before saving.

Questions about the wedding budget
Is the wedding budget planner free?
Yes. Budget, vendors, contracts, payments, notifications and currencies are free for every wedding. Only receipt scans use credits, 2 per receipt. Your first wedding comes with 5 welcome credits, and the Wedding Pass adds 50 more.
How does Bridely work out the catering cost?
It multiplies the menu price per guest by your guest list. Guests who have confirmed count as certain, guests who haven’t answered as possible, and guests who declined drop out. A child’s meal counts at half price unless you set another price. You also see what catering would cost if everyone still to answer came.
Can I track costs in euro and lei at the same time?
Yes. Each cost keeps the currency on its contract or receipt. The wedding total is shown in your budget currency at a reference rate and marked as an estimate.
How do I record a deposit and the balance?
Open the vendor and add the deposit as a payment, with its date. Then schedule the balance with its due date. Bridely shows what you have paid and what is left, puts the balance in the payment calendar and sends you a notification three days before it is due.
Does booking a vendor update the budget?
Yes. The contract price goes into the budget, and the payments you add count against it. If the matching task is on your list, such as booking the photographer, it is ticked off when you book.
Can I scan receipts instead of typing them in?
Yes. Take a photo of a receipt, even a handwritten one, and Bridely fills in the vendor, amount, date and items. You check everything before it is saved. Each receipt uses 2 credits, and you see the cost before you start.
How much does a wedding cost in Romania?
It depends mostly on the number of guests and the menu price, which vary a lot by city, season and venue, so Bridely doesn’t quote averages. The best estimate is your own: the menu price times the people likely to come, plus quotes from your main vendors and a reserve.
